Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876. Workers in large buildings used the telephone to talk to people on other floor. People at home used telephones to talk to friends and relatives hundreds of miles away.

ReplyDeleteThe light bulb was invented in 1879 by a man named Tomas Edison. It helped our lives in many ways. One way was many busnisses could not stay open late. It was always sunrise to sunset because it got to dark to see anything. After the invention of the light bulb it was alot eaiser to see so stores could stay open later.

ReplyDeleteThe invention of the light bulb was important because if you were working on something now you could work during the night. You can also work during the night and get more money. The main way the light bulb helped us is that now all work didn't have to stop at sunset.
ReplyDeleteIn 1877 Thomas Edison invented the ylinder phonograph/the tin foil phonograph. The phonograph was used to both record and reproduce sounds. This allowed people to be able to change the sounds of music if they chose to. This started then and some sense of form, still being used today especially in the music and movie industry.

In office buildings, they could call people on different floors. They didn't have to wait to get an answer through the mail. Not everyone could arrord it, but it did change many peoples lives in the world.

Some immigrants came from Asia,so China,Russia,Greece etc. Also some immigrants came from Europe so,Italy Germany,England etc. These all have different cultures. Immigrants brought items like weapons,cloth,bible,needles, and threads. Most immigrants carried these things in a pillowcase.

ReplyDeleteImmigrants came from other states such as China and Germany, to escape persecution and some other reasons. Chinese immigrants were treated much worse than others because Americans thought thier culture was 'weird'. Immigrant stations would stop sick immigrants from entering until they got better. Sometimes immigrants were even sent home. Immigrants might have been considered bad to workers cause they get there job because they work cheaper than other people. Also ones who spent all their money on lived in tenements. Immigrants were harder workers back then because they came in America to start there new lives with hope that it will turn out good.
A man named Thomas Edison invented the light bulb in 1879. The light bulb helped because after it was invented, workers could work for longer times. Before the light bulb was invented, workers had to leave the factory as soon as it became dark, and they would use the natural light from the sun with big wide windows. Another thing why the light bulb was also a great help because it was safer than the gas lamps. If you were working and you accidentally knocked over the gas lamp, it would catch something on fire, and it would become a big mess. This is what the light did to people back then.

Less accidents happen because if you knock down a gaslight it will cause a fire, however electric lights don’t. Many people can read more books at night. Many people can get better eyesight as well. It also kept rooms clean and no dust. It was more comfortable because gaslight make the room very stuffy, which electric lights don’t, and widows can be open or close. It makes people ‘s business grow, and made increase productivity. Finally it helps people do more work and made more goods.

In 1872 Elijah McCoy invented the oil cup.His invention the oil cup allowed trains and other machines to run longer.The oil cup drips oil on important moving parts.Also in 1867 Margret Knight invented a machine that makes paper bags with flat bottom.Now the paper bags can hold more.

When it was to eary in the morin or to late in the day they could not work because it was dark.After Edison invented the light bulb they coul;d stay open longer,(good for the company but bad for the workers it justs makes their day longer!). Now we use the light bulb instead of windows! THANKS THOMAS EDISON!!!!!!
